Agneta Rosenberg, President and Founder
Agneta Rosenberg is the president and founder of Interim Ventures that assists Nordic technology and services companies develop go-to-market strategies in the U.S. market, close initial customer and partner deals and build the foundation for successful expansion. Interim Ventures was founded in May 2000. Its approach allows companies to significantly reduce time and expense to the U.S. market.
Agneta is a native of Sweden who brings 29 years of experience in high-tech and services strategy, marketing and business development on two continents. Her work day covers nine time zones – from Sweden in the East and California in the West.
In January 2011, she joined the Copenhagen-based TBK Consult worldwide network of management consultants supporting software companies with rapid globalization. As of January 2011, she is also the Entertainment Talent Manager for the Charles Unger Experience, a San Francisco-based Jazz and R&B band.
On May 26, 2010, Agneta was officially appointed by Mayor Richard M. Daley as the chair of the Gothenburg Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International. The same year, she joined the Stockholm-based Diamon International Business House’s community of experts within the areas of customer and market development internationally.
From 1994 – 2000, she worked as a Marketing Strategy Consultant and as the IT Practice Team Leader at the Swedish Trade Council – North America. In this capacity, she managed a 5-person consulting team that performed U.S. marketing research and business development for Swedish companies in the software, hardware and telecommunications industries. She also assisted several Swedish Internet companies in their effort to attract initial investment in Europe. It was while working at the Swedish Trade Council that Agneta saw the Swedish technology companies’ need for a more sustained and structured U.S. expansion process.
From 1984 to 1994, she held various positions at IBM Midwestern Area, including Business Recovery Consultant, Marketing Representative and Systems Engineer. Agneta initially came to the United States in 1982 to work as an international trainee at the IBM Videotex Market Development group in White Plains, NY.
Agneta graduated from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1982, with a BA in International Marketing and Finance. She has studied Journalism at Northwestern University and Digital Strategy and Innovation at the University of Chicago. She is conversational in French and fluent in English and Swedish.
She is a board member and VP of Communications of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Chapter, chair of the Gothenburg Committee of the City of Chicago Sister Cities International and was previously the president of the Swedish Women’s Educational Association Chicago Chapter.
